How to treat your people - 2
There are some things that you should and should not do that will
disciple your people. How you treat them is part of this and being an
example is the other part.
Treat your people the way you would like to be treated. This seems
like a pretty simply, biblical concept, but you would be surprised how easy
it is to lord it over folks who cross you or just don't seem to get it.
Some things that you should not do to your people might include the following:
Don't be afraid to tell someone they are doing wrong when you
knowthey are doing so. This may seem a little contradictory from last weeks
tip but it is not. Confronting open sin is part of every Christian's duty.
However, in confronting that sin one must do so out of love and with a
concern, not for a standard or a personal conviction, but for the effects
that sin will have on the person and the church. The worse thing you could
do for your people is to wink at known sin. By not confronting it, you are
condoning it.
