Tip of the Week 10-18-96
How to be an example
to your people - 1

Be on time. Perhaps it is just my pet peeve, but I believe that we
should teach our people to be on time by example. Many people would never
be tardy for their job. Repeated lateness in the work place will be met
with dismissal. Why then do we treat God's house with less respect? I
believe that God has a sense of humor and perhaps when the rapture occurs,
all those Christians who have made it a practice to be late will be raptured
5 seconds after everyone else! "Late again!" the Lord will say. Seriously,
save yourself some problems and be on time. I used to be the bad guy
getting everyone to stop talking and fellowshipping to begin our worship
service. I have now trained an usher who is like a driff sergeant. He even
gets me going. I like it.
