Pastor Jeff Ables, Calvary Baptist Church in Knob Noster, Missouri, has
been a real encouragement to me on this list with his thought out words of
wisdom. His advice is our tip of the week. Thanks Brother Ables.

Tip of the Week 01/31/97
Gratitude, Communications &
Encouragement.
All those who are Planting Churches need to remember to keep the lines of
communication open between themselves and those who support with prayer and
financial support. To acknowledge that you received the money that was
sent to you is vital in keeping communication open. To drop a thank you
note or to send a prayer letter to let the Pastor's and Churches know what
your needs are and what your prayer request are is again a vital line of
communication. Don't exaggerate numbers to pacify those who think you
should be doing more or running unattainable numbers. Be honest and open
but most of all communicate. Take time when it is unexpected to write a
note to another church planter because you of all people know what that
other brother is going through. You could even drop a note to a supporting
Pastor and just let him know you are praying for him and his ministry. Let
us encourage one another.
