Tip of the Week 9-20-96
Follow-up

Following an old sales follow-up program that I had learned which stated
"six (meaning contacts) will make them stick", I exclaimed "Seven will get
some to heaven!" Our "7 Personal Touches" was a visitation tool to get
people to personally contact visitors seven times in seven weeks. If they
did not stay with us and went somewhere else, we would then be content that
we had done all that we knew to do.

Of these 7 contacts about 3 were done by me including that all important
first visit within 7 days. The 7 contacts varied from cards, to personal
visits and phone calls to letters but they were all contacts made simply to
encourage and determine if there was a need. I see our visitation as an
extended part of our invitation to determine their standing in the kingdom
and offer any biblical help we can.

What happens after "7 Touches"? They go on my mailing list forever (or
until the tell me they do not want mail from us anymore). Each month and
every special event I write to all of them encouraging them and witnessing
to them. Some people have taken years to come around but finally got saved
and are now in our church.
