Door-to-Door Prospecting Part 2
Tele-Soul is a computer dialing machine that can be automatically set up to
dial a selected area with a computer generated announcement or survey. The
generic survey leads to the important questions concerning salvation. I
found that in using Tele-Soul, it generated more contacts than I was able to
keep up with. It was well worth the initial investment of about $1600
dollars. I am almost positive that they do more and less expensive now.
This type of door to door work does two things:
1) It cuts through the fat to the meat. In canvassing a neighborhood one
might knock on 15 doors before having the opportunity to share the gospel
completely and perhaps 60 doors before someone gets saved. This is time
consuming and tedious. A bi-vocational church planter will not have the
time to do this and be the family man he needs to be.
2) With Tele-Soul those who are not interested hang up and you only spend
time visiting with people who want to know how they can know for sure that
they will go to heaven when they die. More time spent in soul-winning and
more time spent in discipleship.
Tele-soul or computerized calling can help to announce your new church,
contact members about important events and make hundreds of calls a night
without getting discouraged because of no answers or hang-ups.
