Tip of the Week 5-24-96
Balance \__________________________________________
Balance is vital. Unfortuantely, I believe that each of us will
struggle to keep the right balance between church, family, and personal
life. When you feel that your family life is suffering, sometimes you
will neglect the church. When the church suffers, sometimes you will
neglect your personal health. The battle continues and I am not sure
there is an answer except simply being aware that there is a need for
proper balance.
You are not Superman and the trail of church planting is littered with
such super heroes that have failed to keep proper balance. The church
planters own worse enemy maybe himself. The drive and vision that
consumes a church planter may do just that, consume him. We often preach
balance to our people but do not practice ourselves the words we speak.
The results are disastrous, and all that God has called us to do is
consumed by our ignorance and stubborness.
